In conjunction with the Mascoutah Police Department and the East West K9 Group, MHS conducted a first of many canine sweeps of our campus and parking lots today to ensure our school remains drug free to the best of our efforts. Canine teams from Mascoutah, Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Waterloo, Freeburg, Smithton and Jerseyville were on site for the sweep. We want to thank these agencies for their time and support as we continue to be vigilant and protect our school community through proactive measures. #OneTeamOneTribeOneFamily

The MHS Ecology club toured the Illinois Caverns on Saturday. Students spent 3 hours wading through water, crawling though tight spaces and ducking under stalactites. Students learned about the rich history of the cave and ecosystem. #19EveryStudent #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice

Mr. Block's Earth Science classes at MHS were fortunate to have Jason Patinella, Aerospace Engineer and US Army Top Secret Intel Officer, as guest speaker for a day! Mrs. Land's Entrepreneurship class conducted a Blind Taste Test today, learning about primary data for qualitative and quantitative business purposes. Students tasted name brand and generic cereal, cola, chips and sandwich cookies. Two out of the four tests students chose the generic brand. Two out of the four tests, students choose the generic brand over the name brand. #19EveryStudent #MHSTheHighSchoolOfChoice

Using scripts from the Mascoutah Heritage Society, Mr. Latham's AP US History classes recently relived stories of prominent early Mascoutah residents, including Moses Land, a Revolutionary War vet whose memorial is in the Mascoutah Cemetery; tying in learning to their community!

The MHS AP Euro students in Mrs. Whiteside's class recently experienced the St. Louis Art Museum. Students had a Doce-led experience of Renaissance Art, Baroque Art, Rococo, and Impressionism, part of the first-semester curriculum experiencing art up close and personal.
